Kane Williamson’s New Zealand side was on the wrong side of the tied World Cup final as England claimed their maiden 50-over World Cup title based on boundary count at Lord’s, the Home of Cricket. Recently, New Zealand's rugby side, All Blacks lost to Eddie Jones’ England and were knocked out of the Rugby World Cup.

With England touring New Zealand for a five-match T20I series followed by a two-match Test series, the home team has an opportunity to get revenge of these defeats.

While talking to media in Christchurch, New Zealand’s stand-in skipper Tim Southee laughed at the notion that England sides have the wood over New Zealand.

When asked about the World Cup final at Lord’s, Southee said, “What happened in England has happened. There's a few guys that were involved in the World Cup, there's only a couple in the England side.

It's a different format, we've had a tour to Sri Lanka (since the World Cup). Life goes on, you move on. We had the series in Sri Lanka and our focus is now on this it's time to box on and crack on to another series, and look forward to another World Cup in 12 months' time,” he added.

The T20I series between England and New Zealand gets underway from Friday (1 November) at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
