The Pakistan Cricket Board is going to use the ‘show of hands’ technique, most commonly used by children in street cricket, to decide the order of picking players in PSL 5 draft.

PCB is trying to make the Pakistan Super League draft interesting by deciding the franchise that gets to pick the player first with a new approach. This ‘show of hands’ approach has not been used in any professional cricket tournaments before, but that is what makes it interesting. The source of this idea is unknown but the method is generally seen implemented by children playing street cricket.

The dates for the draft are not confirmed yet, but is expected to take place sometime around mid-November. The matches will begin in February 2020 and will go on till March. However, this time, the entire season is expected to be played in Pakistan. This has become possible due to their recent success of hosting Sri Lanka for an ODI and T20I series.

The fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League is certainly attracting the attention of the fans even before the player draft is scheduled. PCB might hope to bring some more changes in the tournament like the ‘show of hands’ in the draft.
