The first T20I between India and Bangladesh at Delhi will be played under high security after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) received a threat.

An anonymous letter claimed that Team India, particularly captain Virat Kohli, was on the threat list, sources said here on Tuesday. Although, Virat Kohli is rested for the series and won't be with the team.

The opening match is scheduled for November 3 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. As per Delhi Police sources, the letter contains a list which also includes the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, Home Minister Amit Shah, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalwart Lal Krishna Advani, BJP working President J.P. Nadda and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) got to know about the threat after NIA forwarded the letter.

The threat says that All India Lashkar, based out of Kozhikode, Kerala, might target Kohli and prominent politicians. There are chances that the letter could be a hoax, as said by the source. But Delhi police wouldn't take any chances ahead of the match.

Rohit Sharma will lead India in the absence of Virat. The full-time skipper, Kohli will return for the two-match Test series after the T20Is.
