Pat Cummins, Alyssa Healy, Nathan Lyon and Glenn Maxwell win big at Australian Cricket Awards

Some of the major winners at the awards were Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell, Alyssa Healy, and Pat Cummins.

Australia’s no.1 off-spinner Nathan Lyon won the Test player of the year, while Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis won the T20I and ODI player of the year awards respectively. At 25 years and 279 days, Cummins is the youngest player to win the Allan Border medal since Steve Smith, who won the first of his two awards aged 25 years and 239 days.Marcus Stoinis won the ODI Player of the yearThe voting period was between January 7, 2018, and January 9, 2019, and Lyon performed brilliantly during this period and received 25 votes from his teammates, umpires and media representatives. He edged out Pat Cummins and Usman Khawaja for the award, who received 17 votes each. Captain Tim Paine (nine) and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh (eight) also made it to the top five, according to cricket.com.au.

Glenn Maxwell won the T20I player of the year Glenn Maxwell received his second T20 Player of the Year award after his win in 2015. He polled 33 votes, three more than nearest rival D'Arcy Short. Andrew Tye, with 29 votes, Aaron Finch (19) and Billy Stanlake (18) also made the list.

Marcus Stoinis won the ODI Player of the Year by a considerably big margin of eight votes. While the all-rounder polled 30 votes, ODI captain Aaron Finch finished second with 22 votes. Shaun Marsh, who was in fine form with the bat during the voting period, managed only 18 votes while Travis Head got 14 and pacers Andrew Tye and Billy Stanlake received nine votes each.

Alyssa Healy won the female T20I player of the year and Belinda Clark awardSouthern Stars’ wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy won the inaugural women's T20I player of the year. She had won the player of the tournament award at last year's World T20 and was also the ICC T20I Player of the Year.
