Australia thrashed arch-rivals England by eight wickets to secure their fourth Women's World T20 title in Antigua on Saturday (November 24).
Alyssa Healy was deservedly named player-of-the-tournament for her 225 runs in the marquee event at an incredible average of 56.25. She amassed two fifties and a couple of forties in the six innings of WWT20.
By virtue of this achievement, Healy and her husband Mitchell Starc, who plays for the Australian men's cricket team, became the first couple to win the best player award at an ICC event.
Starc was bestowed with the same honour during Australia’s triumphant 2015 World Cup. The left-armer was the joint highest wicket-taker (22 scalps) in the tournament along with New Zealand’s Trent Boult.
In 2015, Starc engaged to Alyssa Healy and they married on 15 April 2016. They are only the third married couple to play Test cricket, after Roger and Ruth Prideaux, who represented England in the 1950s and 1960s, and Guy and Rasanjali de Alwis, who represented Sri Lanka in the 1980s and 1990s.

"Lucky I got my golf bag so that I can put some extra stuff. The girls played beautifully tonight," Healy said after receiving the player-of-the-tournament award.
"Really proud. A team effort. I've just really enjoyed the freedom at the top and play some fearless cricket. Looking forward to play in the Big Bash and see if I can continue. Very special. We worked really hard to build on that culture. With the group's that we've got there's many more to come," she said at the post-match presentation.
"(Winning World T20) 2010 is still my favourite, but this one might top it. It's an amazing place to tour and the people here are really friendly. It's a fun place to tour," she added.
