Sachin Tendulkar leads the congratulatory message for World Cup winning India U-19 team

Sachin also lauded the India U-19 coach Rahul Dravid.

India won their fourth U19 World Cup. (Getty)India Under-19 side has created a history by winning the 2018 edition of ICC U-19 World Cup. Prithvi Shaw and company beat Australia in the final by 8 wickets at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Saturday (February 3).

It was India’s fourth U-19 World Cup title, the most by any cricket playing nation. The Boys in Blue have literally steamrolled all their opponents in the Youth World Cup in New Zealand. While the Rahul Dravid-coached side registered mammoth victories in all 3 of their group matches against Australia, Papua New Guinea and Zimbabwe respectively, they thrashed Bangladesh U-19 in the quarter-final clash by 131 runs before annihilating arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-final by 203 runs.

Following the momentous victory, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar took to micro-blogging site Twitter to lead the congratulatory message for the new U-19 world champions. The Master Blaster posted a video and captioned it as: “WITH GREAT TEAM WORK, BIG DREAMS WORK. Congratulations to our WORLD CHAMPIONS!! We are proud of you. A big congratulations to Rahul and Paras for their guidance. #ICCU19CWC #INDvAUS”.

In the video, Tendulkar said: “With great teamwork, big dreams work. Congratulations to our world champions. You have made us proud”.

The batting maestro also lauded his former teammate and India U-19 coach Rahul Dravid for guiding the boys thoroughly.

“Excellent job by Rahul and Paras. Thank you for all your contribution and guiding all the youngsters. And to our youngsters – your beautiful journey has just begun I would say. Continue to give your best and enjoy the game above all. Good luck and have a wonderful career,” Sachin further added.
