Kedar Jadhav will miss out on the ODI series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury. India and Sri Lanka will play the first match of the series on Sunday in beautiful Dharamsala. Jadhav had undergone rehabilitation work at NCA in Bengaluru but could not recover completely to take part in the series.
Jadhav's replacement was also named by BCCI, and it is the young all-rounder from Tamil Nadu, Washington Sundar who has had an impressive season. Sundar is also part of India's T20I squad which was announced recently. The youngester will look to grab the opportunity given to him.
Sunday's ODI will be India's first under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma who will fill in for Virat Kohli who is rested for the limited overs series. Hardik Pandya is expected to be back for India and will play an important role as the team doesn't boast of many bowling options among their top order batsmen, however veteran MS Dhoni was seen trying his seam up at practice.
