The high voltage contests between India and Australia almost all the times grabs eyeballs of the ardent cricket fans, be it through the quality of cricket or by means of the heated moments. However, during the fourth ODI between India and Australia at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru on Thursday something amusing happened that made everyone go chuckle in the stadium.
It was an incident involving Australia’s wicket-keeper Matthew Wade and India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma. After collecting the ball, Wade was trying to pass the ball to the part-spinner Travis Head – who was delivering the 16th over for Australia. While doing so, Wade gently lobbed it and it accidently hit the non-striker batsman Rohit Sharma on his head.
Rohit was shaken up by it since he wasn’t expecting anything as such. Luckily for the 30-year-old though, he was wearing a helmet and thus got away with it. Aussie glovesman though immediately apologized to Rohit while Head straight away went to Indian opener to check if he was alright. Rohit, who made a quickfire 65 last night, gave a thumbs up and they all had a laugh after that.

Australia posted a mammoth 334 for five in their quota of 50 overs after captain Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat first. In response, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane led a very good foundation by adding 106-run for the opening wicket but none of the middle order batsman except Kedar Jadhav (69-ball 67) could compile a substantial score as the hosts fell short by 21 runs. Consequently, India’s winning streak of 9 ODIs was broken as Australia registered their first win in 12 completed away ODIs in last one year.
