Weeks after announcing that they had called off their engagement, Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and actor-influencer Akriti Agarwal have made the decision to try again.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Akriti announced their reunion, accepting responsibility for her choice to call off the engagement and recognizing the influence of those close to her.
In March 2026, Prithvi Shaw and Akriti shared pictures of their engagement on social media. Citing divergent objectives and future conditions, Akriti declared in September that they had made the decision to split up.
Although the pair has not disclosed the specifics of their separation to the public, her most recent statement reverses that decision.
Titled ‘A personal clarification,' the statement said Akriti had allowed the opinions of others to shape her perception of Shaw and their relationship.
“When I called off our engagement, I let the opinions of people close to me—who seemed to know our relationship better than we did—influence how I saw my fiancee and our relationship. I feel I was misguided, and I decided without giving us the honest conversation we deserved,” Akriti Agarwal’s Instagram post read.
According to Akriti, she accepted responsibility for the choice and the harm it had caused. Since then, she said, the pair had communicated honestly, understood one another, and decided to reunite.
“Together, we are enough for each other, and we don't need anyone else. This time, I want our future to be guided by our own understanding, trust, and love. Please respect our decision as we begin again,” the statement concluded.
