Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi and Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Afridi were over the moon as Pakistan Shaheens defeated India A in their Asia Cup Rising Stars encounter in Doha, Qatar, on November 16.

Maaz Sadaqat starred with both the ball and the bat, as he and Saad Masood took two wickets each to keep India A to 136 despite 45 by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and 35 by Naman Dhir. In response, Sadaqat hammered 79* as Shaheens won the game in 13.2 overs with eight wickets in hand.

Following the win, Naqvi was left overjoyed as he hailed the "fearless" show from the Shaheens.

“What a proud moment for Pakistan and for the Board today! Our Pakistan Sheheens defeated India A by 8 wickets, chasing down the target in 13.2 runs. A dominant, fearless, and unforgettable performance in the Asia Cup Rising Stars Tournament in Doha. Superb cricket by our young guns, the future of Pakistan is shining bright. Congratulations to the nation!” Naqvi posted on X.

Then, Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan ODI captain, also congratulated the Shaheens on their win over India A. Afridi led Pakistan to a 3-0 ODI series win over Sri Lanka at home. In the third and final ODI in Rawalpindi, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets.

Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 211 runs, with Sadeera Samarawickrama leading the way with 48 runs. With 3/47, Mohammad Wasim Jr. was the star. In response, Pakistan chased down the score in 45 overs with 6 wickets remaining, with Fakhar Zaman scoring 55 and Mohammad Rizwan scoring 61*.

Shaheen Afridi praised Wasim's and the Pakistani team's contributions and discussed the team's significant growth since the South Africa series.

In the post-match presser, he said: "Pakistan Shaheens won against our neighbours, so that's a big achievement for us."

Pakistan Shaheens will now meet the UAE on November 17, while India A will clash with Oman on the same day.
