Rohit Sharma received a warm welcome upon reaching Mumbai on Monday (October 27). The veteran opener returned from Australia, following the conclusion of the three-match ODI series, which India lost 2-1.
However, Rohit had an impressive outing, marking his return to professional cricket after he retired from Tests earlier this year.
Having retired from T20Is and Tests, Rohit has become one-format player. The Australia tour marked his return to international cricket for the first time since Champions Trophy 2025 triumph in March.
Despite an extended hiatus, the former India skipper performed brilliantly in Australia, returning with scores of 8, 73 and 121*. He finished as the leading run-getter from either side, and earned the Player-of-the-Series award.
Two days after the end of the series, Rohit Sharma returned to India and was mobbed while leaving the airport premises in Mumbai.
The fans took the opportunity to click selfies with Rohit before he got into his car and left for his residence.
Here’s the video:
With his ton at SCG, Rohit Sharma became only the 10th man in history to smash 50 international centuries. It was his 33rd ODI hundred and he also has 12 Test tons and five T20I centuries to his name.
Rohit will be next in action during the home ODI series against South Africa, starting November 30 in Ranchi.
