Yuzvendra Chahal played a key role in taking Punjab Kings (PBKS) to the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The leg-spinner, who was signed for a hefty sum of Rs 18 crore at the mega-auction, claimed 16 wickets in 13 innings which included a couple of four-wicket hauls.
However, towards the end of Punjab’s league stage matches, Chahal missed quite a few games owing to finger injury. After playing a match against Rajasthan Royals on May 18, his next appearance came against Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 on June 1. He also featured in the final.
Now, RJ Mahvash, who has been making headlines for her rumoured relationship with Chahal lately, has revealed that spinner’s "ribs got fractured in the second match only and his bowling finger got fractured later."
"They fought, stayed and played till the last match! And special post to @yuzi_chahal23 because what people don't know is that his ribs got fractured in the second match only and his bowling finger got fractured later, this guy played the entire season with 3 fractures!" RJ Mahvash posted on Instagram.
"We all have seen him screaming and crying in pain but have never seen him giving up! I mean what warrior spirit you have man ?? The team kept fighting till the last ball! It was nothing but an honour to be a supporter of this team this year! Well played boys ?? All the people in these pictures have my heart ??See you next year! Also, many congratulations to RCB and fans for winning the title. Everyone played and worked hard! Cricket , and IPL ..my God again! Truly a festival for us indians."
Punjab Kings fell short by just six runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Tuesday (June 3).
Asked to bat first, RCB posted 190/9 on the board in the title clash. While Virat Kohli was the top scorer with 35-ball 43, the likes of Patidar (26 off 16), Liam Livingstone (25 off 15) and Jitesh Sharma (24 off 10) made valuable contributions with the bat.
In reply, PBKS could manage only 184/7 in 20 overs, thanks mainly to Shashank Singh (61 not out) and Josh Inglis 39.
With the ball, Krunal Pandya (2-17 in 4 overs) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2-38 in 4 overs) produced magical spells for RCB.
