After 18 seasons filled with heartbreaks, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally managed to clinch their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title on Tuesday (June 3).

RCB edged out Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in a thrilling IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, sending fans into a frenzy of celebration.

The triumph also left Virat Kohli emotional as the RCB talisman fell to his knees and broke down in tears.

As part of the victory celebrations, Kohli landed in Bengaluru along with his RCB teammates on Wednesday (June 4).

After a receiving a grand welcome at the hotel, the players headed to the Vidhana Soudha to meet Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, before finally reaching their destination -- the iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Upon arriving at the Chinnaswamy, Kohli received a thunderous welcome. As he took centre stage, the star batter waved towards the crowd, pointed at them and finally kissed the IPL trophy.

When Kohli was getting ready to address the crowd, he had to wait nearly two minutes before the words came out of his mouth. In fact, even when they did, he had to stop twice as the decibel levels kept going higher.

"Firstly, I want to say…" Kohli stated before a loud cheer interrupted him. "Ok, I am going to start off by saying something that (again stops)."

After letting the crowd settle, Kohli eventually said, "So I don't have much time. Let me talk. I am going to start off by repeating what our captain said. It's no more Ee sala cup namde. It's Ee saala cup namdu. We’ve done it, and this win is not just for me and the last 18 years, but for all of you. The fans, the people who have supported us. This is especially for you. The trust and love you all have shown over the years is truly special. I have never seen a fanbase quite like you guys."

Kohli then made sure that Rajat Patidar got his due credit as he welcomed his captain on the stage.

"When we did our unbox, and we were going to call on our new captain, I had asked and requested you guys to back him and support him. And I said one thing very clearly. He's going to lead us for a long time to come. I want you to give the loudest cheer as he has proven himself. Won the trophy for us. Please welcome our captain, Rajat Patidar."
