The IPL 2025 final witnessed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally breaking their title drought by clinching their first-ever IPL championship at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3. RCB secured a narrow 6-run victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a thrilling finale.
After winning the toss, PBKS's Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl first. RCB's highest score was 43 thanks to Virat Kohli, but PBKS's outstanding bowling kept them in check. The next top scorers were Liam Livingstone (25), Rajat Patidar (26), and Jitesh Sharma and Mayank Agarwal, each with 24 points.
For PBKS, Kyle Jamieson and Arshdeep Singh both claimed three wickets.
Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, the PBKS openers, were unable to get the team off to the fast start they usually provide. Josh Inglis gave the momentum with 39 in 23 balls, although Arya (24) and Prabhsimran (26) gave it their all.
But the RCB bowlers kept the PBKS hard-hitters from teeing off by bowling tight lines. PBKS finished 184/7 in 20 overs, and Shashank Singh top-scored 61* with 6 sixes and 3 fours. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya picked two wickets each for RCB.
The IPL 2025 champions, RCB, won the match by a margin of six runs. The RCB players and Virat Kohli celebrated their first IPL championship in eighteen years with much excitement.
The cricket fraternity was elated on seeing RCB winning the IPL 2025 and shared their joy on social media.
