The IPL 2025 final got underway at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3 between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Shreyas Iyer of PBKS won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Virat Kohli’s 43 was the top score for RCB as they were kept tied down by some excellent bowling by PBKS. Rajat Patidar (26), Liam Livingstone (25) and Mayank Agarwal, and Jitesh Sharma, both with 24 each, were the next best scorers.
Kyle Jamieson and Arshdeep Singh both picked up three wickets each for PBKS.
In response, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings for Punjab Kings. Arya batted well for his 24 runs in 19 balls, hitting 4 sublime fours. He tried one shot too much and attempted to play a lofted shot to Josh Hazlewood.
He just timed the ball towards the deep square leg fence, where Phil Salt took an excellent running catch. He threw the ball up in the air as he was crossing the boundary rope, went past the rope, and then came back into the field of play to complete an easy catch.
