Earlier this week, the IPL 2025 Governing Council and the BCCI had invited all three service chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces to attend the IPL 2025 final, slated to be held Ahmedabad on June.

The move was meant to honour the Indian Armed Forces in the wake of the Operation Sindoor, but a report published in NDTV claims that all three service chiefs would not be present there for the title clash.

While General Upendra Dwivedi is the Chief of Army Staff, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi is the Naval Chief. Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh is the Chief of Air Staff.

Operation Sindoor was launched on terror camps inside Pakistan and PoK after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which took lives of 26 people.

The operation led to a military conflict between India and Pakistan. As a result, the IPL 2025 was suspended for a brief period.

After the announcement of ceasefire, the IPL resumed with a rejigged schedule on May 17. The final was earlier set to be held on May 26 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The BCCI has consistently made efforts to stand in solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces. At every match since the restart, the national anthem has been played before the first ball, and 'Thank You, Armed Forces' messages have been prominently displayed on the giant screens inside stadiums.
