Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the youngest player ever sold in an IPL auction in the IPL 2025 super auction, made his Indian Premier League debut for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 19, 2025, against the Lucknow Super Giants.
The left-hander was selected for the RR team as an impact sub in place of injured skipper Sanju Samson. He made his IPL debut at 14 years and 23 days old, making him the youngest player to do so.
He made an early impression after opening the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. He hit his opening ball from Shardul Thakur for a massive six over the covers.
He hammered two more sixes before being stumped out by Rishabh Pant off Aiden Markram. Suryavanshi scored 34 in 20 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes and was applauded by the Jaipur crowd as he walked back to the dugout.
However, cameras captured Suryavanshi getting emotional and crying. He wiped his tears with his gloves.

The 14-year-old impressed one and all with his fearless hitting and even the fans had their heart melted to see Suryavanshi crying after he got out, as he had planned a big knock for himself.
They took to social media to console and praise him for his brilliant IPL debut.
