The 31st match of the IPL 2025 saw the Punjab Kings (PBKS) hosting the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Mullanpur Stadium in Chandigarh on April 15, 2025. The PBKS came into this match with 3 wins from 5 games, while KKR had 3 wins from 6 games.
PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. Priyansh Arya (22) and Prabhsimran Singh (30) added 39 runs in 3.2 overs. But then the PBKS lineup folded like a pack of cards. Shreyas Iyer got out for 2-ball duck, and the rest of the batters followed.
Shashank Singh made 18 to push the total past the 100-run mark, but the PBKS was bowled out for 111 in 15.3 overs. Harshit Rana picked 3/25, while Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine picked two wickets each.
One of the most noticeable dismissals of PBKS innings was that of Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell has not been in the best of form in IPL. He scored 52 runs in 10 matches for RCB in IPL 2024 and now in IPL 2025, he has 41 runs in 6 games. That’s 93 runs in 16 games in this far.
In this game, he had made 7 runs when Varun Chakravarthy foxed him with a googly that Maxwell failed to read and was clean bowled.
