In response, Karun Nair proved to be the lone fighter for the DC team, scoring 89 runs with 12 fours and 5 sixes. He also added 119 runs with Abishek Porel (33) for the second wicket. However, the introduction of leg-spinner Karn Sharma triggered a collapse of DC's middle order, and eventually, they were bowled out for 193 and lost the game by 12 runs.

Karn Sharma dismissed Abishek Porel, KL Rahul (15,) and Tristan Stubbs (1) as DC collapsed from 135/3 to 193 all-out.

Karn Sharma was brought in as an impact sub, and Rohit Sharma was subbed out. However, the ex-MI captain continued to help the team with strategies.
