Will Jacks was roped in by Mumbai Indians (MI) at the IPL 2025 mega-auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Monday (November 25). Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) chose not to exercise the RTM card for the England power-hitter.

Jacks impressed one and all with his exploits in the IPL 2024 season. Playing for RCB, he amassed 230 runs in eight innings at an average of 32.86 and a strike rate of 175.57, including one hundred and a half-century.

Having been released by RCB, Jacks entered into the auction ring with a base price INR 2 Crore. MI and PBKS were involved in a bidding war, but it was the five-time champions who succeeded in securing the services of the English cricketer for INR 5.25 Crore.

MI owner Akash Ambani was so thrilled with this deal that he went on to shake hands with the RCB management for not using RTM on Will Jacks. The video of this moment went viral on social media.

The highlight of Will Jacks’ performance in the IPL 2024 season was his unbeaten century off just 41 balls against the Gujarat Titans.

Chasing a mammoth target of 201, Jacks slammed 10 sixes and five fours, guiding RCB to victory with four overs to spare. His onslaught included 28 runs in a single over against Rashid Khan over, featuring four sixes.
