WATCH- “20 crore rakhna padega”- R Ashwin tells fan who wanted Rohit Sharma to join RCB in IPL 2025

Rohit Sharma is rumored to enter the IPL 2025 auction after parting ways with Mumbai Indians.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli playing for RCB will be a dream come true for fans | XR Ashwin, ace India off-spinner, gave a hilarious reply to a fan, who had elaborately explained to him how good it would be if Rohit Sharma comes into the IPL 2025 mega auction and is bought by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Rohit, who has been associated with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, is reportedly looking to part ways with the franchise. This comes after Rohit was removed as MI captain by the franchise ahead of IPL 2024 and replaced by Hardik Pandya.

Since then, there have been speculations that Rohit Sharma might not be retained by the MI franchise and he might enter the IPL 2025 mega auction.

The IPL has released rules and regulations ahead of the Mega auction, allowing teams to retain up to five capped and six overall players through straight retention or the Right-To-Match (RTM) card.

Teams may be hesitant to exceed three retentions, as the fourth and fifth retentions are charged at ₹ 18 and ₹ crores, respectively, similar to the previous two.

During an online interaction between Ravichandran Ashwin, writer Vimal Kumar, and a fan, the topic of Rohit Sharma's auction entry came up.

The third guy, possibly an RCB supporter, delivered a passionate speech about why Rohit Sharma should be purchased by RCB in the IPL 2025 auction, assuming the 'hitman' enters the mega auction.

The fan outlined everything that will happen once Rohit Sharma joins RCB, even claiming that he might captain the franchise as well, relieving Virat Kohli.

Reacting to the fan’s wish, Ashwin, who has played for teams like CSK, DC, RR, PBKS, and RPSG, said to sign Rohit, RCB needs to save at least Rs 20 crore.

Agar Rohit Sharma ke liye aap jaa rahe hai to 20 crore rakhna padega (You need to keep 20 crores with yourself if you want to sign up Rohit Sharma),” Ashwin said.
