IPL 2025: Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki to remain with GT despite ownership change talks- Report

Gujarat Titans are reportedly set to have new owners after IPL 2025.

GT captain Shubman Gill and coach Ashish Nehra | IPL-BCCIAshish Nehra and Vikram Solanki, head coach and director of cricket for the Gujarat Titans (GT) franchise, will reportedly remain with the franchise till the IPL 2025 edition of the tournament. This comes amidst the report of ownership changes in the Gujarat Titans.

As per multiple reports, Torrent Pharma, an Ahmedabad-based company, is set to acquire a majority and controlling stake in the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, currently owned by CVC Capitals.

As per Cricbuzz, Ashish Nehra is expected to complete his 3-year contract with the GT franchise. Vikram Solanki will also complete his contract period. Both had their contracts renegotiated following the team's successful first season.

And there is talk that they might be among the league's highest-paid coaching staff, with incomes potentially approaching a million dollars or roughly INR 8 crores.

The Gujarat Titans board, which included major executives from CVC Capital, a global private equity firm, including London-based Nick Clarry, Singapore-based Siddharth Patel, and Mumbai-based Amit Soni, conducted a review and is thought to have chosen to retain the couple.

The choice to keep Nehra and Solanki means that the rest of the coaching staff, including Aashish Kapoor, Mithun Manhas, Narendra Negi, and Naeem Amin from the United Kingdom (all assistant coaches), will remain in place, as will Sandeep Raju as the performance analyst.

The only question is if the franchise will look for a replacement for Gary Kirsten, the organization's batting coach, who resigned to coach the Pakistan national white-ball team.

Meanwhile, the report also stated that BCCI is yet to receive any formal communication from CVC Capital or Torrent Pharma about the change in ownership of Gujarat Titans. Any change in ownership can only take place after five months, as the current owners are bound by a three-year lock-in period, which ends in February 2025.
