Umar Akmal, out of favor Pakistan batter, found himself in the limelight once again due to his gaffe on social media. Akmal congratulated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for their IPL 2024 win after the Shreyas Iyer-led team defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final on Sunday in Chennai.
As wishes poured in for the franchise from all quarters, Akmal too joined the bandwagon, lauding the side's title triumph. However, in his message, he misspelt KKR which led to hilarious reactions on social media.
However, Akmal posted KKL instead of KKR in his wish on X which led to some hilarious reactions from fans on the social media platform.
“Congratulations to #kkl on winning #ipl third trophy @KKRiders @IPL ‘s @GautamGambhir @ShreyasIyer15,” Akmal posted.
