Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma was seen in a jovial mood ahead of his team’s final IPL 2024 league match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). This match is being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 17, 2024.
Rohit Sharma was removed as captain of the MI ahead of the IPL 2024 as the team management traded in Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans and handed him the captaincy. Since then, there have been reports of disharmony in the MI camp with some claiming that groupism was established in the contingent.
These rumors were fired up thanks to a video that circulated ahead of the KKR v MI match in Eden Gardens. Rohit Sharma was talking to KKR coach Abhishek Nayar and during this conversation, he seemingly said that everything has changed in the MI camp.
Rohit can be heard saying: “Ek ek cheez change ho raha hai.... Woh unke upar hai, main ye sab pe dhyaan nahi data... (Everything is changing one by one. It depends on them, I don't care about that). Jo bhi hai woh mera ghar hai bhai, woh temple jo hai na maine banwaya hai. (Whatever it is, it's my home. It's a temple that I've built). Bhai mera kya, mera toh last hai (Anyway, this is my last).”
This audio led to lots of speculation despite KKR CEO Venky Mysore downplaying the whole conversation.
Now ahead of the MI’s last league match of the tournament, Rohit Sharma was seen on camera talking to his former Mumbai and India teammate Dhawal Kulkarni and they were sharing some laughs.
Rohit then noticed the cameraperson and requested him to turn the audio off as the last time caused him difficulty, as he signaled towards his conversation with Nayar.
“Bhai yaar, audio band kar Bhai, ek audio ne to mera waat laga diya hain (please mute the audio, one audio got me in trouble),” Rohit can be heard telling the cameraperson.
