IPL 2024: WATCH- SRH owner Kavya Maran meets Kane Williamson; duo shares warm hug

SRH owner Kavya Maran and Kane Williamson hug | SRH XSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) became the third team to qualify for the playoffs after their IPL 2024 match against Gujarat Titans at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad was abandoned due to rain on May 16. GT has already been eliminated from the race for the playoffs.

Though cricketing action couldn't be possible, the fixture did offer Gujarat Titans star Kane Williamson the opportunity to reunite with Sunrisers co-owner Kavya Maran at the Uppal stadium. 

Williamson was once the core member of the SRH franchise and captained the team to the IPL 2018 final as well when David Warner was banned. However, poor returns in Kane Williamson’s full-time captaincy after IPL 2020 led to SRH releasing the Kiwi captain before the IPL 2022 auction.

However, their meeting in Hyderabad was cordial as both smiled at one another shared a warm hug and both exchanged pleasantries.

SunRisers Hyderabad became the third team to have qualified for the playoffs by virtue of being at the third spot with 15 points from their 13 matches at a net run rate of 0.406.
