IPL 2024: WATCH - Big blow for RR, RCB as Jos Buttler, Will Jacks, Reece Topley leave camp before playoffs for national duty

England are set to face Pakistan in a four-match T20I series from May 22 onwards.

Will Jacks, Reece Topley and Jos Buttler | RCB/RREngland cricketers have started bidding goodbye to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 with the playoffs around the corner.

The Three Lions are set to face Pakistan in a four-match T20I series from May 22 to May 30. It is considered an important series for both teams to fine-tune their T20 World Cup 2024 preparations.

On Monday (May 13), Jos Buttler left the Rajasthan Royals camp and the piece of development is a huge blow for the inaugural IPL champions.

Buttler has been in terrific form for the Royals, having amassed 359 runs from 11 games at an average of 39.88 and a strike-rate of 140.78 with two centuries.

RR shared a post on ‘X’ where Buttler was seen leaving the team. The franchise wrote, “We’ll miss you, Jos bhai!”

In the absence of Buttler, the Royals can play Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who has scored 4734 runs from 190 T20s with one hundred and 34 half-centuries.

Rajasthan Royals are yet to secure their spot in the playoffs. After winning 8 out of their first 9 games, Sanju Samson’s men have experienced a mini-slump as they are on a three-match losing streak.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are another team that will be affected by the absence of two English stars. Placed fifth in the team standings with 12 points from 13 games, RCB are still in contention for the playoffs race.

However, they would not be having the services of Will Jacks and Reece Topley for the remainder of their campaign.

"Jacksy and Toppers are heading back home for international duties and we wish them all the very best. You were incredible in the camp and on the field this IPL. See you soon, lads," RCB confirmed with a social media post.

The Faf du Plessis-led side is due to face defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the last league match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 18.
