Mumbai Indians (MI) pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah continued his brilliance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as he claimed a wicket with his very first delivery against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Saturday (May 11).
Bumrah got the prized the scalp of KKR opener Sunil Narine, who has taken quite a few bowling attacks to the cleaners this season.
The right-arm quick delivered a length ball on the off stump and Narine misread the line, expecting it to go to the wicketkeeper harmlessly. To his dismay, the ball came back in to hit the off stump as the southpaw had to walk back to the pavilion for a golden duck.

Jasprit Bumrah has been bowling exceptionally well ever since his comeback to international cricket following the back surgery.
The star pacer played an instrumental role in India’s Asia Cup 2023 triumph and then made the batters dance to his tunes in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup last year. Subsequently, he carried on his brilliance to Test cricket on the tour of South Africa and in the home series against England.
Mumbai Indians may have been enduring a dismal IPL 2024 campaign, but Bumrah has looked in terrific touch right through the tournament.
Not long ago, Bumrah was the leading wicket-taker in the competition. As of today, he is the second highest wicket-taker in the ongoing IPL with 19 scalps to his name from 13 games. His economy of 6.34 separates him from the rest of the bowlers featuring in the IPL.
