IPL 2024: WATCH- Virat Kohli pretends to open the bowling for RCB, makes throat slash gesture at Sunil Narine

RCB and KKR are clashing for the second time in IPL 2024, this time in Kolkata.

Virat Kohli | XThe Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are hosting the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 36th match of the IPL 2024 tournament. This match is being played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 21, 2024.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mohammed Siraj, Cameron Green, and Karn Sharma were included in the RCB playing XI. KKR came in with an unchanged playing XI.

Meanwhile, as the RCB team took the field and waited for KKR batters to come out, Virat Kohli handed his cap to the umpires and took the ball from him. The crowd went crazy seeing Virat Kohli taking the ball, as they have been clamoring for him to bowl in last few matches.

Kohli started marking his run up and in the process, as Sunil Narine passed by him, Kohli made a throat slash gesture towards him.

However, much to the dismay of the fans, it was only a ruse by the ace RCB player as he went back to the umpire gave him the ball, and took his Orange Cap back from him. He was also seen chatting with Narine, which made the batter laugh.

The Bengaluru-based franchise has struggled to make an impact in the ongoing campaign, winning only one out of seven matches. The Faf du Plessis-led team's bowling has been a big source of concern throughout the showpiece tournament, with runs being given at a steady rate.
