Royal Challengers Bengaluru star batter Virat Kohli cut a dejected figure in the RCB dugout as his team failed to defend 183 runs against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the recent IPL 2024 match in Jaipur on April 6.
RR Captain Sanju Samson had won the toss and chose to chase. Virat Kohli starred with 113* in 72 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes. Faf du Plessis made 44 and the duo added 125 for the first wicket as RCB posted 183/3 in 20 overs.
In reply, Jos Buttler hit a magnificent 100* and added 148 for the second wicket with Sanju Samson (69), as RR won the game by 6 wickets in the end.
Kohli became visibly frustrated during RR's run chase. In the 18th over of the chase, when the visitors achieved a couple of doubles with Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer sprinting between the wickets, Kohli, sitting in the RCB dugout, seemed helpless as he covered his face in dismay.
“Just feel the frustration…certainly from Virat Kohli. He is virtually carrying the team on his shoulders," the commentator on air said.

The win saw RR jump to the top of the table with four wins in four matches, while RCB languished to the eighth spot after a solitary win in five games this season.
