RR's initiative to help Rajasthan Women with solar lamps | BCCI-IPLSanjay Manjrekar, the former India batter-turned-commentator, was slammed by fans on social media, for his ‘back to serious business’ comment during toss of the 19th match of IPL 2024 on Saturday.

This match was played between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Rajasthan players wore an all-pink kit to express their support to the empowered women from rural Rajasthan under their new initiative Pink Promise. RR has promised to employ a certain number of solar lamps in Rajasthan for every six that were hit in the RR vs RCB match.

As a part of the initiative, a local woman joined the captains at the toss as well. The local woman gave a solar lamp to RR captain Sanju Samson, who then presented the same to RCB captain Faf du Plessis.

After the ceremony by Samson was completed, Manjrekar made a disrespectful comment against the initiative by RR.

Before asking Samson to roll the toss, Sanjay Manjrekar said, And now, back to the serious business of flipping the coin in the air.”

This comment of Sanjay Manjrekar didn’t sit well with fans. Notably, Manjrekar was previously criticized on social media for asking the Wankhede Stadium crowd to ‘behave’ as they were jeering MI captain Hardik Pandya.

But with his current gaffe, many thought Manjrekar disrespected a good initiative by RR aimed at the welfare of women.
