Despite previous struggles with form and fitness, Shaw's blazing innings demonstrated his great talent and potential. The Delhi Capitals opener hit four sixes and two fours, propelling his club to a fast start.

Shaw said that he was happy to be playing white-ball cricket after a long time and his determination to score runs following his recovery from an injury.

"I don't know about this year but in every IPL, they expect me to whack every ball. I don't consider it as pressure, I just try to go out there, take it as a challenge and do my best. It felt good to play white-ball cricket after so long. After coming back from an injury, the hunger is there to score runs, middle the balls. IPL is that kind of a game. If you middle the ball, you know it's your day. Today I was and trying to play smartly because we did not get an ideal start, so I was trying to sort it out," Shaw said in the video.
