Virat Kohli enjoys a massive fan following across the globe but in India, his homeland, the star batter’s popularity is on a different level.

A glimpse of Kohli’s fan following was witnessed once again during the sixth match of the IPL 2024 season between RCB and PBKS at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday (March 25).

Before the start of RCB’s innings, a fan managed to breach security to touch Kohli's feet and hug him. The video of the incident went viral and became a major talking point on social media.

Coming to the match, RCB recorded their first victory in the ongoing IPL season as they defeated PBKS by four wickets.

Chasing 177 to win, Virat Kohli laid the foundation with a superb knock of 77 in 49 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes.

Following his dismissal, Dinesh Karthik (28* off 10) and Mahipal Lomror (17* off 8) stepped up and provided the finishing touch, taking RCB over the line with four deliveries to spare.

After the game, Kohli was awarded Player-of-the-Match and he also earned the Orange Cap for sitting top of the list of leading run-getters of this season.
