MS Dhoni has stepped down as CSK captain ahead of IPL 2024.

Ravindra Jadeja celebrating after hitting the winning runs in IPL 2024 final | IPL-BCCIChennai Super Kings (CSK) will clash with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the opening match of the IPL 2024 on March 22. The defending champions will be playing under a new captain as MS Dhoni handed over the leadership duties to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the opener.

Dhoni is expected to retire at the end of this season and it seems the unanticipated move, just a day before the start of new season, has been taken for a smooth transition. The cSK are five-time champions, and a sixth title will put them in a space where no team has entered so far.

Meanwhile, it seems that MS Dhoni is going to enjoy his possibly final outing in the IPL to the fullest. He was seen having fun during the CSK training session as he was seen emulating Ravindra Jadeja’s celebration after he had won the IPL 2024 final for his team.
