Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja fondly recalled the iconic moment when MS Dhoni lifted him up and hugged him after the southpaw had won the team the IPL 2023 final in Ahmedabad.

In the crucial 15th and final over of the rain curtailed match, CSK found themselves in a precarious situation, requiring 10 runs off the last two balls. Jadeja was facing Mohit Sharma of Gujarat Titans and he did the unthinkable by hitting him for a six and a four.

Jadeja then went on a victory run towards the CSK dugout, where MS Dhoni lifted him and gave him a tight hug. This moment has been enshrined in a portrait and CSK shared a video in which Jadeja talked about the iconic moment with MS Dhoni.

'...he (Dhoni) just stopped me and he lifted me. Yes, obviously this is one of my all-time favourite memories. I will never forget this hug from Thala. This will remain inside my heart forever. Love you, Thala. Cheers," Jadeja said in the video.

Defending champions CSK will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2024 opener on Friday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
