Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s ankle injury could force him to be out of action till the end of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, where he is supposed to lead the Mumbai Indians (MI).

Hardik suffered an ankle injury during the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, which ruled him out of the major chunk of the quadrennial event and then the T20I series against Australia, as well as India’s ongoing tour of South Africa.

Now, reports claim that the Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper will miss the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan at home, and there are doubts about his participation in the IPL 2024 as well.

"There is no update on Hardik's fitness status as of now and one can say there remains a big question mark of him being available before the end of IPL," PTI quoted a BCCI source saying.

If this turns out to be true, it could be a significant setback for both Team India and Mumbai Indians. Despite the potential setback, fans took to social media to talk about Hardik's possible absence from the IPL 2024, generating a flood of memes.
