IPL 2023: WATCH- MS Dhoni straps knee before walking out to bat, goes for solo walk to thank fans at 3:30 AM

MS Dhoni has said that if fitness permits, he'd like to play one more IPL to say thanks to fans.

Dhoni had been dealing with a knee injury even before the IPL 2023 started and during CSK's pre-season camp, the 41-year-old was seen wearing a kneecap. He managed the issue throughout the tournament. He batted often at no.8 and played very less balls but created a huge impact.

He did keep wickets in all innings that CSK bowled, a tough task on its own.

There were instances while he was batting when the iconic CSK skipper was seen limping while running as the speed between the wickets, a characteristic of Dhoni, seemed to have been reduced this season.

Even during the final, MS Dhoni showed huge dedication towards the game as a viral video showed him putting a protective strap over his injured knee before coming out to bat.

After CSK won the final and the ground was being readied for the presentation, MS Dhoni took out time to go for a walk around the stadium thanking the fans for showing faith in them and coming back to watch the final when the original day was rained out.

MS Dhoni has said that if fitness permits, he'd like to play one more IPL | BCCI-IPLAfter the final on Sunday was washed out, some fans even went to the extreme of sleeping at the railway station to be available for the rescheduled final on Monday.

This was the great man’s way of showing gratitude towards the hoards of fans who came to support him and his team.
