The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had an incredible early morning on May 30 as they won the IPL 2023 championship by defeating the Gujarat Titans (GT) on the rescheduled day, which was also postponed due to rain.
They tied the Mumbai Indians for the most IPL championships. Despite the GT bowlers' best efforts, they were able to successfully complete the DLS amended goal of 171 runs in 15 overs.
They were still in the game, though, because to Devon Conway's 47 and cameos from Ruturaj Gaikwad (26), Ajinkya Rahane (27 in 13 balls), and Ambati Rayudu (19 off 8 balls). Shivam Dube with 32* and Ravindra Jadeja hit a six and a four off the last two balls of the 15th over, when 10 runs were needed to win the final and the title for Chennai Super Kings.
It was an emotional moment for fans all across the world as they saw Dhoni lead CSK all the way, confirming his legacy as perhaps the greatest captain in IPL history.
In an emotional video shared by the IPL on Tuesday morning, Dhoni could be seen lifting Ravindra Jadeja in celebration while also acknowledging GT skipper Hardik Pandya for his side's effort. Later, daughter Ziva came and gave Dhoni a big hug, congratulating on the title.
Dhoni can also be seen laughing with Devon Conway, holding Mitchell Santner’s daughter with a big smile. He also hugged Hardik’s wife, Natasa in pleasantries.

MS Dhoni had done a huge gesture as he asked the BCCI president and secretary to hand over the IPL trophy to Ambati Rayudu, who played his last match in the tournament and Ravindra Jadeja, who had hit the winning runs.
After clinching the title, Dhoni's daughter Ziva was seen lifting the IPL trophy with CSK players, celebrating the gigantic triumph at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
