IPL 2023: Kohli wanted to become Indian cricketer, marry an actress – RCB star's childhood wishes revealed

Kohli has represented India in 108 Tests, 274 ODIs and 115 T20Is so far, amassing more than 25000 international runs with 75 centuries. He led India in 213 matches across formats and won 135 of them. His success rate as Indian captain is one of the best in the history of cricket.

No wonder, Virat is widely regarded as one of the best of the modern era and young cricketers from all over the world want to emulate him.

On Friday (May 5), Virat Kohli’s IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) released a video, giving a sneak peek into the veteran batter’s journey from being a budding cricketer in Delhi to a global superstar.

The video featured Kohli's childhood coach, friend, and friend's mother as they shared some of his exciting childhood stories.

The clip begins with Rajkumar Sharma, Kohli's childhood coach, citing how they recognized early on that he was a remarkable talent deeply committed to his goals. On the other hand, Virat’s friend Shalaj Sondhi recalled some amusing stories about his mischievous nature.

In a scrapbook shared by one of Kohli’s friends in the video, which was filled out in 2002-2003, he expressed his desire to play for India.

In the video, Sondhi's mother also recounted being told by Kohli that one day he would have a massive poster with his face on it and he would marry an actress as well. As it turned out, Virat Kohli ended up fulfilling all his desires.

Virat Kohli is currently featuring in IPL 2023 for RCB. In nine matches, the right-hander has amassed 364 runs at a strike rate of 137.87 with five half-centuries.
