IPL 2023: Kaviya Maran’s roller-coaster of emotions spark meme-fest on Twitter during SRH-KKR clash

SRH suffered a narrow five-run defeat at the hands of KKR.

Kaviya Maran | TwitterSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are enduring a dismal Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) campaign. Having lost six of their nine games, the Aiden Markram-led side is occupying the ninth spot on the points table featuring 10 teams.

SRH’s latest defeat came against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Thursday (May 4).

Chasing 172 to win, the Sunrisers were restricted to 166/8. While the likes of Aiden Markram (41) and Heinrich Klaasen (36) played good knocks, they failed to take their team over the finishing line.

SRH CEO and owner Kaviya Maran was left gutted by the team’s another narrow loss this season and went through a roller-coaster of emotions.

Whenever she attends SRH’s home games in the IPL, Maran becomes the talk of the town for her reactions, either happy or disappointed.

It was the same during the SRH-KKR clash on Tuesday as Kaviya Maran went from being jubilant to literally being shell-shocked in a matter of few overs. Her ever-shifting emotions in the stands sparked a meme-fest on Twitter.

Here are the tweets:

After the game, Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Brian Lara blamed the batters for this defeat.

"We keep losing couple of wickets in powerplay and that always sets you back a bit. We again ask (Heinrich) Klassen, who has been batting tremendous for us, to do all the hardwork. He is coming in at No.6, we have got five quality players before him. It's always been a task for him.

"The batters obviously will know the responsibility of winning such a game on a good batting track but we are unable to do it," Lara said in the post-match press conference.

"I would say that we had a game to win and we have to hold our hands up and say they didn't beat us we lost the game. The game was in our hands and we lost the game," he added.
