On April 21, Friday, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced off in the 29th game of the IPL 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Winning the toss, MS Dhoni decided to bowl first. Both sides came into the match with unchanged lineups. The SRH innings got a decent start when Harry Brook was knocked for 18, and after a brief partnership, Abhishek Sharma was dismissed by Jadeja for 34 runs. Rahul Tripathi was also dismissed by Jadeja for a run-a-ball 21.
Then, Ravindra Jadeja starred with 3/22, as the CSK spinners put the brakes on the SRH scoring and restricted them to just 134/7 off 20 overs.

In response, CSK got off to a quick start thanks to 87 runs partnership for the first wicket in just 11 overs from Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Unfortunately, Ruturaj was run out for 35 in 30 balls, but Conway kept up the attack at the other end.
He led CSK to a 7-wicket victory with 8 balls remaining, scoring 77* runs in 57 balls with 12 fours and 1 six. Thanks to this win, CSK cemented their third spot in the IPL 2023 points table, while SRH languish at the 9th spot.
