The 29th match of the IPL 2023 saw Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) Ravindra Jadeja and Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) Heinrich Klaasen getting into an unpleasant altercation during the SRH innings on April 21, at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
After winning the toss, CSK captain MS Dhoni opted to bowl first. Abhishek Sharma top-scored with 34 runs, while Rahul Tripathi made 21 as SRH could only muster 134/7 in their 20 overs as Dhoni used his spinners to great effect.
And the best of them was Ravindra Jadeja who picked 3/22 in his 4 overs, and his wickets included Abhishek Sharma, Tripathi and Mayank Agarwal.
While Jadeja managed to get Agarwal stumped by MS Dhoni for 2 runs, he could’ve had the wicket earlier as well, if not for Heinrich Klaasen.
The incident happened on the first ball of the 14th over when Agarwal's shot almost came straight into the hands of Jadeja. However, the ball was hit towards the non-striker’s end and Klaasen refused to move aside in order for Jadeja to complete the catch.
It resulted in Jadeja colliding with Klaasen and the dropping the catch and the left-arm all-rounder made his frustrations known to the South African and SRH keeper-batter.
