IPL 2023: WATCH- MS Dhoni on fire behind the stumps; takes sharp catch of Markram, stumps Agarwal in a blink

CSK won the toss and chose to bowl first against SRH in Chennai.

MS Dhoni was brilliant behind the stumps | BCCI-IPLChennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni might be 41 years old, but his reflexes behind the stumps are still cat-like. This was on display when CSK hosted Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chepauk in their IPL 2023 match on April 21, Friday.

CSK have won 3 out of their five matches before this encounter, while SRH has won only 2 out of their five and is placed 9th on the IPL 2023 points table.

MS Dhoni had the luck of the coin and chose to bowl first. Both the teams decided to play with the same playing XIs as their last game.

While the start was decent with Harry Brook falling for 18 and after a short partnership, Abhishek Sharma fell for 34 runs to Jadeja, who also dismissed Rahul Tripathi for a run-a-ball 21.

The next two wickets were where MS Dhoni showed his brilliant glove work.

In the 13th over, Maheesh Theekshana bowled a delivery around the off-stump and SRH captain Aiden Markram tried to punch the ball through the off-side on the back foot. However, the ball turned a bit and Markram was also off-balanced and only managed to edge the ball, which stuck into the gloves of MS Dhoni.

Then in the next over, bowled by Ravindra Jadeja, Mayank Agarwal tried to advance down the track to the wily spinner, who saw him coming and bowled the delivery a bit short and it turned enough to beat Agarwal’s willow. MS Dhoni did the rest as he removed the bails in a jiffy sending the batter back.
