The 24th match of the IPL 2023 saw Shivam Dube of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hitting a massive six against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 17, 2023, with the match being played at the MA Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Faf du Plessis of RCB won the toss and chose to bowl first on a typical Bengaluru pitch.
Devon Conway (83 in 45 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes) and Shivam Dube (52 in 27 balls with 5 sixes and 2 fours) along with Ajinkya Rahane (37) were the architects of CSK’s 226/6 in 20 overs.
In reply, RCB's total was based on two amazing knocks from captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell after they lost Virat Kohli for 6 and Mahipal Lomror for a duck in the start.
Faf du Plessis (62 in 33 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours) and Glenn Maxwell (76 in 36 balls with 3 fours and 8 sixes) added 126 runs for the third wicket in 10 overs of pure carnage. But then Maheesh Theekshana removed Glenn Maxwell and Moeen Ali had Du Plessis stumped by Dhoni.

This left a huge task for the lower order to achieve, and despite Dinesh Karthik making 28 in 14 balls, and Suyash Prabhudessai (19) hitting some blows, RCB fell short by 8 runs, finishing on 218/8 in 20 overs.
Tushar Deshpande picked 3/45 and Matheesha Pathirana took two wickets for CSK, who moved to the third spot with this win with 3 victories in 5 matches and 6 points.
