Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had a night to remember in Bengaluru as they defeated hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by one wicket on the last ball of a high-scoring clash that saw 425 runs being scored.

Batting first after being invited to do so by LSG captain KL Rahul, RCB posted a great total of 212/2 with captain Faf du Plessis (79*), Virat Kohli (61) and Glenn Maxwell (59) scoring half-centuries.

In reply, LSG lost early wickets but were bolstered by blistering half-centuries from Marcus Stoinis (65) and Nicholas Pooran (62) as they clinched victory on the last ball with last pair Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi stealing a bye.

The game saw several twists and turns as the home crowd at the ground went through various emotions before going home disappointed with the final result with RCB failing to take the game into the Super Over due to couple of missed run out chances by Harshal Patel and Dinesh Karthik.

LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir was extremely pleased after the final run was scored that sealed a win and top spot on the points table for the franchise. He was seen celebrating the victory in the team dugout and later silenced the RCB fans by putting finger on his mouth.
