Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) clashed in a thriller at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday (April 10) in Match 15 of the IPL 2023.

LSG captain KL Rahul opted to bowl first after winning the toss, as RCB made full use of the batting friendly conditions to post 212/2 on the board with captain Faf du Plessis (79*), Virat Kohli (61) and Glenn Maxwell (59) scoring fifties.

In reply, LSG lost their top order cheaply to be 23/3 after 4 overs but Marcus Stoinis (65 in 30 balls) and Nicholas Pooran (62 in 19 balls) played blinders to get the chase back on track. Ayush Badoni (30) also played a fine hand before getting hit-wicket. LSG needed 5 runs off the last over with three wickets in hand.

Harshal Patel bowled well to get rid of Mark Wood and Jaydev Unadkat, also completing 100 IPL wickets, to leave LSG needing one run off the final ball of the innings with Avesh Khan on strike.

Plenty of drama ensued there on as Harshal stopped in his run-up only to mess up an easy opportunity to run out Ravi Bishnoi at the non-striker's end with the batter well outside his crease, and then when Harshal finally delivered the last ball, Avesh missed it as the batters ran to collect a bye as the wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik failed to collect the ball cleanly that could have given him a chance to run out Bishnoi at the striker's end.

Mohammed Siraj and Wayne Parnell picked three wickets apiece for RCB, while Nicholas Pooran was named the Player-of-the-Match. LSG topped the points table with their third win from four matches, while RCB languish at seventh with one win from there matches.
