Faf Du Plessis won the toss and chose to bowl first. And his bowlers proved his decision right as only Tilak Varma’s 84* with 9 fours and 4 sixes was the innings of notice in a poor MI batting performance as they managed 171/7 in 20 overs.

MI skipper Rohit had a disastrous outing as he was dismissed after scoring a solitary run in 10 balls, as he edged to wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik off Akash Deep's delivery.
