Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) players Mohammed Siraj and Dinesh Karthik were involved in a nasty collision during their IPL 2023 opener against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (April 2).

During the fifth over of MI’s innings, Rohit Sharma attempted a pull shot off Siraj’s short delivery but mistimed it completely.

Siraj and Karthik were the leading candidates to complete the dismissal of Rohit. While Siraj managed to get his hands on the ball, the pacer failed to take the catch as poor communication led to a horrible collision between him and wicketkeeper Karthik. As a result, the MI skipper survived.

The medical staff also checked both players after the incident and Siraj looked in a bit of discomfort.

However, Rohit Sharma failed to make the most of the reprieve and was dismissed in the next over for just 1 off 10 balls. It was Akash Deep who got rid of the MI captain as he edged the ball behind stumps to Karthik.
