IPL 2023: Will Jacks ruled out of upcoming IPL due to injury, RCB announce replacement

Jacks picked up a muscle injury during the recently held ODI series against Bangladesh.

Michael Bracewell | GettyNew Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell has replaced injured England batter Will Jacks in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Jacks picked up a muscle injury during the recently held ODI series against Bangladesh while fielding.

“Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have signed New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell as a replacement for England batter Will Jacks for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023,” IPL said in a statement.

“Jacks, who was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury, was bought by the franchise for INR 3.2 Crore,” it added.

“His replacement, Bracewell, has played 16 T20Is, scored 113 runs and picked up 21 wickets. He will join RCB at his base price of INR 1 Crore.”

While the IPL 2023 is slated to get underway on March 31, RCB will open their campaign against Mumbai Indians at Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2.
