IPL 2023 Auction: Cameron Green picked by MI for massive price; Jason Holder goes to RR; Ben Stokes to join MS Dhoni in CSK

Out of the shortlisted players, 273 are Indians and 132 are overseas players of which 4 players are from associate nations. The total number of capped players is 119, uncapped players are 282, and 4 are from associate nations.

Sam Curran, the baby-faced England all-rounder smashed IPL record becoming the most expensive player of all time as Punjab Kings bought him for INR 18.50 crores in the IPL 2023 auction.

Jason Holder was the next in line with a base price of INR 2 crs and he saw CSK and RR going after his services. Rajasthan Royals finally got him for INR 5.75 crores.

Next came Australia’s Cameron Green and immediately a bidding war started between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals for him. Both the franchises needed a foreign all-rounder and neither looked to give up on Green.

In the end, MI got Cameron Green for INR 17.50 crs, making him the second most expensive buy in this IPL 2023 auction.

Ben Stokes, the mercurial England all-rounder was the next player to get bid on. He quickly went past the INR 10 cr mark with LSG and SRH going after him along with CSK and finally was picked by MS Dhoni’s CSK for a final bid of INR 16.25 crs.
