The West Indies and Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) star batter Shimron Hetmyer has reportedly re-joined the RR camp and will now be available for the remainder of the ongoing IPL 2022.
Notably, Hetmyer, who had flown to Guyana for the birth of his first child, a son, on May 8, missed the two matches of RR against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
However, RR has almost secured a place for the IPL 2022 playoffs, having won their last match by 24 runs against the LSG on May 15. The franchise is currently in the second spot in the points table with 16 points and a positive net run rate.
Well, ahead of RR’s final group stage match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 20 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, the franchise has received good news, as Hetmyer has rejoined the squad and is likely to be available for this IPL 15 match.
An IPL source told PTI: “Hetmyer is back and is currently in quarantine.”
Notably, Hetmyer, who was bought by the RR for Rs 8.5 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction, has so far scored 291 runs from eleven appearances at a fantastic strike rate of 166.29.
